Microgreen grow mediums are simply soil-less material that supports the plant weight and hold it upright whereas trays and pots provide a setting that replicates the environmental conditions that plants need to grow. Plant roots can adapt to a variety of conditions, ranging from low to high values for pH, fertility, moisture, and aeration. Choose the grow medium that fits the drainage and water retention characteristics the plant needs. Some of the most widely used growing media are coco, perlites and vermiculites, pot mixes. Then the selection of pots and containers depends upon the size of your plant, the growing medium to use, and the growing environment. The planting tray is regularly flooded with nutrient-enriched water. The growing media soaks up this solution, then the excess solution drains out and the air is drawn down around the plant roots.
