Davinci MIQRO Vaporizer detailed review

The new MIQRO vaporizer by DaVinci continues their long history of quality built well engineered portable vaporizers. If you ever had the chance to enjoy vaping with the DaVinci IQ, you already know how amazing that product is. If you loved the IQ, you are going to love this micro dose version that is an astounding 33% smaller then its predecessor. If you’ve never used a DaVinci product then you are in for a real treat. We tested out the MIQRO Explorer kit which comes with extra accessories, but the base kit starts at just $149.95.
DaVinci developed many advanced vaping technologies for their IQ device such as “smart paths” digital display, fully ceramic conduction bowl and zirconium vapor path. These features were all miniaturized and shine in the new MIQRO which is so small you can cup it completely in your hand or drop in any pocket.
Smart Path technology
Davinci developed the “smart path” system for the IQ but luckily due to its success it’s been included on the MIQRO. “Smart Paths” are preset heating programs which start at a lower temperature and over a 10-minute smoking session increase the temperature to ensure that every bit of THC is vaporized from the material that has been loaded into the cooking chamber.

Small Size Quality Build
The DaVinci MIQRO’s amazing small size at just about 3 inches tall by 1.3 inches wide and tips the scale at just 100 grams which is 40% lighter then it’s big brother the IQ. Considering the tiny size of the device it’s incredible that DaVinci was able to construct it with high end materials such as anodized aluminum, ceramic and zirconium. These materials allow the MIQRO to be durable and help it to generate clean flavorful vapor without any harsh hits.
The MIQRO heats up to a medium “smart path” heat setting in about 45 seconds. You’ll find that the vapor is flavorful and not harsh because of the ceramic zirconium used to manufacture the bowl, vapor path, air path and mouth piece. I found that the air draw when inhaling from the device to be strong without restriction. To make sure that resistance doesn’t build up it’s important to clean the vapor path every 10 or 15 uses with pipe cleaners and isopropyl alcohol.
Since the MIQRO uses conduction heating it’s you have to finely grind your cannabis bud and firmly press it into the bowl. You really want to pack your cannabis into the chamber tightly so that is vaporizes well. The capacity is about a quarter gram and can be reduced to .15 grams using the pearl spacer on the lid of the vaporizer. I like to use the unit without the pearl so that I can stuff more cannabis into the chamber.
You’ll need to use the handy pick tool which is located under the top magnetic lid that you can use to stir up the cannabis in your chamber to make sure everything gets cooked.
The MIQRO uses an 18.350 900mAh rechargeable battery. This is exactly half the size of the battery that was used in the IQ model. The battery size reduction was needed because of the small size of the actual unit.
Having such a small battery in a vaporizer does limit usable smoking time to about 40 minutes per charge on a medium “smart path” setting. DaVinci included a second rechargeable battery in the Explorer Kit which makes up for the short life. The batteries charge in about 90 minutes and the device can be used while it’s charging through its Micro USB port. An external charger would be very helpful so that you could charge both batteries at the same time instead of one at a time in the unit.
The MIQRO Experience
For such a small package the MIQRO provides the user with a big smoking experience. I’m surprised that such a small vaporizer has the power to heat up in less than a minute and creates nice fluffy clouds when I exhale after taking a nice smooth draw from the unit. The flavor of your cannabis comes through perfectly because of the zirconium heating chamber.
