OASE SeDox Max is a professional phosphate binding and nutrient management treatment developed for standing water, closed water circuits and internal lake restoration. Its multi-action formulation targets dissolved orthophosphate while supporting a more balanced nutrient environment and favourable conditions for microbial activity.
Excess phosphorus can contribute to nutrient imbalance and excessive algae and biomass development in lakes and other water bodies. SeDox Max is designed to bind orthophosphate dissolved in the water column as well as phosphate released from sediment, converting it into insoluble mineral forms so it is no longer readily available as a nutrient.
SeDox Max provides a high phosphate binding capacity of 30G P per KG of product. Under suitable conditions, it can significantly reduce orthophosphate concentrations to below 0.035MG/L. Its multi-component binding mechanism provides both rapid phosphate binding within a few hours and longer-term binding activity extending over several months.
In addition to phosphate control, SeDox Max introduces biologically available inorganic carbon into the water. This helps support a more balanced C:N:P nutrient ratio and creates conditions that can favour greater heterotrophic microbial diversity while helping limit excessive undesirable biomass development.
The formulation also introduces electron acceptor species including CaO2 and O2 while buffering sediment pH. These conditions can support microbial activity and facilitate increased nitrogen and carbon degradation rates. Enhanced microbial processes can assist with the decomposition of organic sludge components, potentially reducing organic sediment accumulation over time.
Because SeDox Max combines phosphate binding, nutrient balancing and microbial support in one treatment, its high binding capacity allows relatively low application rates compared with less concentrated treatment approaches.
The standard recommended dosage is 50G/M3 for the first metre of the water column, followed by 15G/M3 for each additional metre of water depth. For professional applications, an individual dosage can also be determined from phosphate concentrations measured in the water column and sediment.
SeDox Max can be applied directly in dry form or prepared as a suspension, with suspension being the preferred application method. The treatment should be distributed evenly across the water surface for consistent application.
For professional pond management, lake restoration and water bodies affected by elevated phosphorus levels, OASE SeDox Max provides a comprehensive approach to phosphate control, nutrient balance and biological water management.
Features
- Irreversible Phosphate Binding: Binds dissolved orthophosphate into insoluble mineral forms, reducing its availability within the aquatic nutrient cycle.
- High Phosphate Binding Capacity: Provides a binding capacity of up to 30G phosphorus per KG of SeDox Max.
- Water and Sediment Action: Targets orthophosphate dissolved within the water column as well as phosphate released from sediment.
- Low Orthophosphate Levels: Designed to significantly reduce orthophosphate concentrations to below 0.035MG/L under suitable treatment conditions.
- Rapid and Long-Term Binding: Multi-component formulation provides phosphate binding within hours while maintaining longer-term binding over several months.
- C:N:P Nutrient Balance: Adds biologically available inorganic carbon to help optimise the carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus balance of the water.
- Supports Aquatic Biodiversity: Improved nutrient balance can provide more favourable conditions for diverse heterotrophic aquatic biology.
- Supports Microbial Activity: Helps create favourable conditions for microbial processes involved in nitrogen, carbon and organic matter degradation.
- Oxygen Enhancement: Adds electron acceptor species including CaO2 and O2 to support biological processes within the water and sediment.
- Sediment pH Buffering: Helps buffer sediment pH to support conditions favourable for microbial activity.
- Organic Sludge Support: Enhanced microbial activity can assist with decomposition of organic sludge components and help reduce organic sediment accumulation.
- Reduced Application Requirement: High binding capacity allows lower application rates and can reduce application effort and logistics.
- Flexible Application: Can be applied in dry form or as a suspension, with suspension recommended as the preferred method.
- Professional Water Treatment: Suitable for standing waters, closed water circuits and internal lake restoration.
