The no-hole design allows complete flexibility-ideal for transplanting vigorous, well-rooted propagules from smaller Grodan blocks such as 3" Gro-Blocks or starter plugs.

Preparation & Saturation

Soak cube in **pH-adjusted nutrient solution** (EC 1.5+ mS/cm, pH 5.5–6.5) until fully saturated-bubbling should stop after **10-15 minutes**.
Alternatively, use overhead irrigation with a coarse spray until completely wet.
Drain excess water; ideal target is **70-80% water content (WC)**.
Recommended saturated block weight: **≈ 6,400g**.
Transplant by inserting a well-rooted plug/cutting firmly into the top of the cube.

Irrigation Guidelines

Use **1-2 pressure-compensated drip emitters** per block (0.3–0.5 gph), placed diagonally 1-1.5" deep.
First 24-72 hours: Apply 3% shots (~251mL) every 1-4 hours, maintaining 60-70% WC.
Irrigate when WC drops to **60-65%**, or when the block loses **20-30% of its wet weight**.
Aim for **5-25% daily runoff**.
Vegetative: More frequent, smaller irrigation events to keep WC 60-70%.
Flowering: Larger shots with controlled dry-backs; keep WC 50-75% based on climate and crop steering.

Transplanting & Maintenance

Begin with vigorous, well-rooted propagules.
Mist the top lightly for the first 2-3 days to avoid drying until emitter uptake stabilises.
Use scales or Grodan GroSens sensors to monitor WC, EC, and block temperature.
Avoid full dry-outs (<25% WC) and over-saturation (slows growth).
For ebb-and-flow systems: supplement with **top-watering** for even moisture distribution.
