Let’s face it, this is the mantra of too many growers. There are so many self identified ‘boosters’ out there it would take a super computer to count them. The problem is, only a few are true metabolism boosters, which is what a booster should be. Most are either additional nutrients, organic compounds ...

What is pH? pH (short for potential Hydrogen) is the measurement of acidity and its opposite, alkalinity in a solution. Neutral pH is 7.0 pH. Acidity measures below seven pH (7.0pH) with alkalinity measuring above it (7.0pH). ...

What is conductivity? Conductivity (measured in ppm, EC, TDS, CF) is the total soluble salts contained within a liquid solution. Pure water does not contain salts, so it has a conductivity measurement of zero. By adding soluble elements to the water, electricity is able to move through the solution giving it a conductivity rating. ...

Q: What is CANNA?

A: CANNA is a trailblazer in the field of plant technologies. With complete control over the production chain, from development to research, marketing to sales, and an eco-friendly production line, CANNA is where the magic happens. Our passionate scientists dedicate themselves to unraveling nature's secrets, resulting in top-quality products that are the culmination of years of intensive research.

Q: Why Choose CANNA?

A: Quality is our hallmark. CANNA was awarded first prize for its revolutionary plant products at a prestigious expo in Holland, a testament to our commitment to excellence. We're the Dutch experts and the global leader in intelligent plant technologies, specializing in cocoponics, hydroponics, and potting mix. Our journey began in 1979, and since then, we've scoured the planet for the finest plants and minerals to promote plant health and well-being.

Q: What Sets CANNA Apart?

A: It's a blend of common sense and extraordinary dedication. Our products are designed to be clean, simple, and environmentally friendly. Using CANNA's cutting-edge nutritional plant products guarantees amazing results, even for inexperienced growers. Our secret? A carefully balanced mix of main and trace elements tailored to specific growing mediums and fertilizers.

Q: What is the most suitable and straightforward cultivation method for beginners?

A: CANNA offers four distinct substrates tailored to various growing methods, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages. The choice largely hinges on the grower's skill level and experience. Among these four methods, the CANNA TERRA line is the most beginner-friendly. This substrate comes with additional benefits designed to minimize errors. By following the grow guide while using CANNA TERRA, you can consistently achieve a bountiful yield with minimal attention required.

Q: How can I determine the right time to start administering flowering nutrients to my plants?

A: The timing for introducing flowering nutrients depends on the plant's response to changing day lengths, which varies depending on the type of crop. For instance, plants like chili peppers and tomatoes, which typically flower and fruit during the summer, start flowering as the day length increases. Conversely, plants that flower during the autumn or winter months, such as citrus trees and brassicas, initiate flowering as the day length shortens. For outdoor cultivation, this natural progression follows the seasons. However, for indoor growers, this transition is achieved by adjusting the lighting duration. You should commence with flowering nutrients when the day length either extends or diminishes, depending on your crop.

In indoor gardening, it's possible that the signs of flowering won't manifest until you adjust the light cycle, unless you are working with auto-flowering plants. First, modify the lighting duration and then initiate the use of flowering nutrients.

Q: Why do some nutrient products come in an A&B formula, and what does this mean?

A: Certain nutrient solutions are divided into two separate bottles, labeled A and B, because the elements in these solutions can react with each other in a highly concentrated form. This reaction leads to precipitation, rendering the nutrients unavailable for uptake by the plant.

When using A&B nutrients, it's crucial to always mix them in equal proportions. Start by adding the A nutrient, stirring it, and then add the B nutrient while stirring again. If you're using measuring equipment, ensure that you clean it between measuring both the A and B components. Failure to do so can result in the elements binding together. Alternatively, using separate equipment for A and B can prevent nutrient binding.

Q: I noticed conflicting recommendations regarding the usage of PK 13/14 – your website suggests one week, while a shop advised me to use it for multiple weeks. Can you clarify?

A: We recommend using PK 13/14 for one week only. CANNA nutrients already contain a certain amount of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). As the plant progresses through the flowering stage, we cannot increase the overall nutrient levels further. Instead, we alter the PK (phosphorus-to-potassium) ratio by incorporating PK 13/14 for a single week.

Q: I'm utilizing a recirculating system. Should I opt for CANNA Classic or CANNA AQUA?

A: CANNA has specifically developed CANNA AQUA for recirculating systems. This product contains all the necessary nutrients in a readily available form for your plants. Remember to regularly monitor the electrical conductivity (EC) and pH of the nutrient solution.

On the other hand, CANNA Classic is designed for use in substrates like rockwool and is best suited for a run-to-waste system. It also provides all the essential nutrients in an available form for your plants.
